TENANT INFORMATION
The vast majority of MAF properties are registered with either The University of Sheffield or Sheffield Hallam University or both and have either been checked by the accommodation office before registration and comply with all the requirements of the university.
MAF Properties are also members of the Sheffield Responsible Landlords Scheme, Sheffield & Distract Landlords Association, the National Landlords Association and the Residential Landlords Association all these bodies help enable us to provide the highest quality student accommodation in Sheffield and give our tenants greater peace of mind.
Gas Safe Certificates
All gas appliances are serviced every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered contractor. With each inspection a gas certificate is issued at the start of the tenancy.
Electrical Safety
A periodic inspection report is carried out to ensure that the electrical appliances in the house are in safe condition. NICEIC electrical certificates are issued for all properties and checked regularly.
Furniture Regulation
All furniture provided in the properties complies with the Furniture and Furnishings Fire Safety Regulations 1988.
Smoke Alarms
All properties are fitted with mains operated smoke alarms
ensuring that they are always working. Each property has the correct fire
extinguishers and fire blankets.
Security
Most properties are fitted with a security alarm system which is regularly serviced and some of the newer developments have 24hr CCTV and intercom access security systems.
Deposit Return
At the end of your tenancy we will need the following in order to process the return of your deposit:
1. Please leave the property clean and tidy in accordance with the Checkout Instructions.
2. A Stamped Addressed Envelope with your forwarding address (please write your MAF Properties house address on the back of the envelope)
3. Receipted copies of the Final PAID Utility Bills (for Gas, Electricity & Water) showing proof that you have paid all your bills up to the 12th June (or other contract end date if applicable). We cannot accept "Estimated" readings so please make sure you read your meters when leaving the property.
Repair and Maintenance
We have a maintenance team at hand 24hrs a day - so no repair work is neglected and is carried out as soon as possible, ensuring that minimum inconvenience is caused to our tenants.
